“God, I Thank Thee, That I Am Not As Other Men Are,….” & “God Be Merciful Unto Me A Sinner.” – The Pharisee & The Publican©

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Two men went up to into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful unto me a sinner.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for everyone that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Luke 18: 9-14 KJV

The difference between the two? Their heart.💕

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. – 1 Samuel 16:7 KJV 💕

Today’s Inspirational Scripture©

“Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Je-‘sus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and please God, so ye would abound more and more.

For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Je’-sus.

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in santification and honour;

Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gen’ – tiles which know not God:

That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

For God hath not called us unto uncleaness, but unto holiness.

He that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 (KJV)
