Our initial goal was for the month of February. From the date of my status post on Facebook until the end of the month we were to save $0.50 a day and I would post more details about the challenge here at EffortlessBeauty.
Well, here it is!
The principle of saving and the art of doing so is unknown to some; forgotten by many, or may seem unattainable to few.
Do you have a just because jar?
How about a future goal? (Whether it be short-term or long-term.)
A just in case of an emergency stash?
Well, one of my goals is to travel more! Fifty cents a day isn’t much but it’s a start!
How many of us have pennies just laying around the house?
Fifty pennies = Fifty cents!!!
It doesn’t have to be just quarters!!! Change is change, money is money, and it will all spend the same!!!
Benjamin Franklin advised us, “Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.”
Well if little expenses or a small leak can sink a great ship, just think of what saving $0.50 a day can do towards your goal.
One way to accomplish this is to start saving!!!
Consciously saving!!! On purpose!!!
Making the effort to physically put the $0.50 into your
designated savings container each day.
Not only will it help build discipline in this area but it will also keep you in remembrance of your goal.
Here’s the plan!
Whether it’s a jar, piggy bank, shoebox, etc., find something to start collecting your change in.
I found the cutest piggy bank at the Dollar Tree Store.
Once you have obtained your saving’s container, start TODAY putting away $0.50 a day.
February has passed and March is almost over, but if we start now we can be ready for April!
At the end of each month, you can either (a.) deposit the funds into your savings account or (b.) keep them in your savings container and deposit them at a later date…say 3-6 months later or later than that if you choose.Whatever the case, SAVE, don’t spend it unless you have reached your desired goal and it’s time to use it for that goal in particular.
Disclaimer: For those of us who haven’t consciously saved in a while it will take some time and effort but YOU/WE CAN DO IT!!!
Send me your picture and a description of your goal to firstname.lastname@example.org.
As we begin to save and accomplish our goals I will blog about our success!!
Sound like fun?! LET’S GO!!!

Until Next Time,
I heard something today that was very thought provoking:
Offences come from Satan trying to make you fall. This person went on to explain the Greek meaning for the word offence, this really got my attention, —–>Offences “skandalon” in the Greek, originally was the name of the part of a trap to which the bait is attached, hence, the trap or snare itself.
So in other words, Offence is a trap or snare itself, that Satan uses to try to make you fall by the way.
If we are not quick to release an offence that has been directed toward us, it will lead to our own downfall.
Unforgiveness will cause you to be bitter, have unhealthy relationships, unanswered prayers, misperceptions, it will also cause you to be out of the will of GOD.
Let us be quick to forgive! Quick to release an offence! Refuse to allow it to find ground in your heart! Even if the person who brought the offense never repents or asks forgiveness from you…. YOU let it go!
Don’t you become ensnared in the enemy’s trap to cause you to fall by the way.
It’s empowering to know who your real enemy is….don’t get caught up on the person who is giving the offence…look beyond the person and go straight to the source…Satan himself.
Offences will come but you don’t have to bite the bait!
Walk in love and exercise righteousness!
Great peace have they that love thy law:and nothing shall offend them (Psalms 119:165)
GOD Bless Ya’ll!!!

We have all said it to someone, signed a birthday or Christmas card expressing these words of sentiment towards someone within our lifetime. In our good-byes we utter it. We declare it in public settings.
But how far from the truth those words are in our relationships one toward another.
Someone told me about a situation where they told a particular person that they loved them, and that person replied back to them, “I think you like me but I don’t think you love me.”
This wasn’t a dating relationship, it was actually between two women, whose relationship consisted of being members of the same church at one point in time of their lives. The person who told me this could not understand why this person would respond in such a way to them, They thought that it had something to do with them attending another church…and maybe that played a part in it but I have a pretty good idea why….You see TRUE LOVE…bears fruit…And the fruit of TRUE LOVE is detailed below. What we call love is so far from the truth (the Word of God), and some of us have become accustomed to what is actually considered to be a type of endearment or liking…not LOVE.
Love doesn’t mean agreeing with you all the time OR being in your face all the time…..
Love however is:
Love is kind
It does not envy
It does not boast
It is not proud
It is not rude
It is not self-seeking
It is not easily angered
It keeps no records of wrong
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth
It always protects, always trusts, always preserves
I Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)
So remember this the next time you start to say these words to someone…Remember the weight of what you are saying to that person. This is just not a favorite scripture for a wedding ceremony, this is an attribute that we are to exhibit in EVERY relationship we have.
We don’t have to like a person…their ways…their attitudes…..what they do…what they say..BUT…we are commanded to LOVE them…regardless of how they treat us or act toward us….Yep..that even includes those who you would consider your enemy.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
“Beloved Let Us Love One Another” 1 John 4:7-8

Blessings to you to the God power!
By request, here’s a recipe I’m sure you will love!
I love vegetables and I love being creative when cooking.
This is a dish that I created from scratch during a time, when I was really working out and adjusting my eating habits. I wanted to increase my vegetable intake while decreasing the amount of meat that I was consuming in order to aid in weight loss. I came up with this easy to make recipe and have been making this dish ever since! It’s easy to make and is sure to be a hit! You won’t even miss the meat! Enjoy!
Your vegetables of choice! There is no set vegetable for this recipe you can use whatever vegetables you like. I have listed some examples below of what to choose.
Frozen Stir Fry Mix (Some mixtures include onions, red bell peppers, bamboo shoots, corn, broccoli, etc.,)
Frozen Sugar Snap Peas
1-2 small cans of mushrooms
Whatever you choose, you can mix or match or use one veggie alone. I personally love green vegetables, so I typically use frozen spinach with 1-2 cans of mushrooms, or spinach alone, or a frozen stir-fry mix alone. The possiblities are endless and up to you! You can purchase frozen stir-fry mix from your local grocery store.
Remaining ingredients needed:
1lb of fettucine
2-3 Cups of Water
1-2 Teaspoons of EVOO-Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 jars of Ragu Alfredo Sauce (Garlic Parmesan or Classic Alfredo)
Grated Parmesan Cheese (Kraft or Spartan Brand)
Garlic Bread or Bread Sticks
First in a large saucepan bring 2-3 cups of water to a boil.
Once the water is at a boiling point, add your fettucine to the water and let it cook until it is tender/done.
Next, while your fettucine is cooking, prepare your vegetables.
I personally like to saute my vegetables in EVOO, before adding them to the already prepared fettucine. You can lightly steam, boil, or saute your veggies, it’s up to you, either way is great! If you choose to saute your veggies, use the EVOO! It is way healthier than vegetable oil.
Once your vegetables are done, add them to your already prepared fettucine. Be sure to pour the water off of the fettucine before adding your vegetables. Add both cans of Ragu Alfredo Sauce to the mixture. Stir your vegetables and fettucine until all your fettucine and vegetables are coated. Season with Salt & Pepper. If you are an Oregano fan, season with Oregano too. Return the pot to the stove. Cook on medium heat while stirring, until the alfredo sauce is well heated throughout the dish. Let it cool.
Once the vegetable alfredo has cooled, you are now ready to serve it! Garnish it with grated parmesan cheese and serve with your choice of garlic bread or garlic sticks. Delicioso!
